No: Here are some reassuring facts. A 1-month-old should eat every two and a half to four hours. If a baby this age misses a feeding, she'll likely make it up at the next one. You can also gauge your child's food intake by making a diaper count; if your baby is wetting six or more diapers each day, she is probably getting adequate nutrition. So no harm done, but likely not needed.

Absolutely not: You did no harm to the baby. Congratulations on being a mother and concerned. There are several trains of thought on feeding the newborn. Breastfeeding on demand, when the baby wants to eat the mother allows a feeding. Good for baby, initially harder for the mother. Scheduled feedings. The parents feed on a rather regular schedule. Both are appropriate and the baby will do fine.

No, you didn't :): Congratulations on the new baby! No, you didnt hurt her by gently waking her up to feed. If she didn't want to eat, she wouldn't have. You may notice that she starts sleeping a bit more at night (good thing, right?). As long as she is gaining weight well, you don't need to worry about it. You will be able to enjoy a few more minutes of sleep too!

No: At that young age babies are very susceptible to low blood sugars so frequent feeds - even if you have to wake them up is recommended. You did the right thing. Congratulations on your new arrival!!

No but....: Its ok for the baby going even longer than that!! There is NOT going to be any low blood sugar issues unless if there was an underlying issue with it or the baby was extremely premature. I had all 3 of my daughters going 8 hrs between night feeds from the 5th night home from the hospital. If you want your baby sleeping throughout the night consistently, read "The Newborn Sleep Book"
