No: Your kikidneys are much lower than your rib cage; however, occasionally referred pain from kidney stines can be felt along the flank line.

Yes: If it's in the side or back lower ribs, it can be referred from your kidneys. Less likely in the front, but everyone experiences symptoms differently.
