Viral illness...: Sounds like a viral illness. I would make sure that the child is drinking plenty of fluids/pedialyte - avoid juice while having diarrhea. If vomiting starts, avoid solid foods and go very slow with the fluids. Treat the headache with tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin. IF the headache is severe, your child isn't tolerating any fluids, decreased urine output, or change is mental state the child needs to be seen

Viral infection: Usually in that age group those symptoms are due to a viral infection. Keep the child hydrated and the headache at bay with ibuprofen. If the diarrhea worsens or lasts longer than 5-7 days, see your doctor.
