Trauma: Anal sex is traumatic to the anal sphincter and to the rectal mucosa - while it is not unsafe to have anal sex it is common to have some transient irritation afterward. If the symptoms persist, or if increasing pain follows, then the possibility of an infection would warrant a visit to you doctor.
