Effexor (venlafaxine): Hi, if by BPH symptoms you mean having trouble with urination and emptying your bladder then that's possible as Effexor (venlafaxine) could cause Urinary retention due its Anticholinergic effect. Also your itchy skin could be due to dry skin which could be due to Effexor (venlafaxine), I suggest that you talk to your prescribing doctor to make an adjustment.

Yes: Difficulty voiding is a rare side effect of the group of drugs(Selective serotonin and norepinephrine release inhibitors) belongs. Let your doctor know that this is happening so that the dose may be adjusted to avoid going in urinary retention. Good luck.
