Yes: yes your body was reacting to the missing tampon but you might need to check with your doctor before using it again since there is life threatening condition some time associate with the use of tampon please check with your doctor good luck

Retained tampon: As long as you don't develop fever or rash and feel fine you are ok. If you develop any of these symptoms you should see your Family Physician.
