A doctor has provided 1 answer

Progestin only BC: There are 3 main types of BC that are are known to decrease menstrual flow, the shot ( 3 mo), the dermal implant, a small capsule that is implanted under the skin in the arm (3 yr), & hormonal IUD is inserted into the uterus (3-5 yr) and are usually used after childbirth. All may cause irreg periods for 6 mo but generally after that, menses are usually light but irreg. Ref: www.plannedparenthood.org/.../birth-control
