Phantom Period: Hi, Phantom Period has all the pre-mensural symptoms including bloating, cramp, moodiness, tiredness and headache minus bleeding, as women go through menopause it might take couple of years before the pre-menstural symptoms subside. Although it is crucial to eliminate other causes for the symptoms before calling it Phantom Period. Hope I answered your question.

Perimenopause: Phantom periods are not a recognized diagnosis as far as I know. It is a phrase coined by life-style sites such as Dr. Oz. What you may be describing are the symptoms of perimenopause.
