Sounds like a phobia: Childbirth and other medical procedures can be presented to us in ways that seem very dangerous. These are common targets of phobias. You may have one. Consider targeted CBT to address this - it's fairly straightforward usually and it works. What's 'wrong' is that you 'learned' some things that need more info complete your ability to deal well with the issue. The partly unknown can be very scary.
