Upheaval : The concept of the "mid-life crisis" was introduced by elliot jaques in 1965. It is not a mental disorder and is not recognized in diagnostic manuals. It refers to a turning point when one recognizes that life may be more than half-way over. For some, this recognition leads to emotional or circumstantial upheaval or a major reshuffling of priorities.
