Depends on infection: You have what sounds like dysfunctional bleeding; are you using hormonal contraception? If so, this could be the cause. Was your infection involving the cervix? If so, that could also be a cause. It would be best to have a pelvic exam to evaluate. Be sure you complete your course of antibiotics.
