Odor: These symptoms need to be seen by a doctor. It could be a bacterial overgrowth, it could be an STD, you just can't tell without an exam and testing. Please see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

Vaginosis: Bacterial vaginosis is a lower genital tract infection with thin, white, fishy-smelling vaginal discharge. This discharge is present in the absence of signs of vaginal irritation, such as pain, itching, burning, soreness, and painful sex. BV requires specific antibiotics for treatment and a physician consultation would be necessary for the prescription.

Fishy vaginal odor: A fishy vaginal odor can be caused by bacterial vaginosis, which is an annoyance but is harmless in women who are not pregnant. But an STD called trichomonas can also cause a fishy smell, and there's no way to distinguish or treat these conditions without medical attention. Planned Parenthood may have a sliding scale payment plan so it's possible to have an exam.
