Dietary Habits: Anal fissures are due to passage of large, hard stools. Be sure to get plenty of water and fiber in your diet. Be active and exercise daily. Being sedentary can promote constipation. If you have not 'healed' from your previous anal fissure, see a surgeon. There is surgery that can be done if conservative measures do not work.
