Few hints below.: There are a few different ways to stop hiccups once you have them:holding your breath is usually the most effective way. Drinking water can help...or having someone try to scare you.You can also try to prevent them from happening by not eating quickly, not gulping down drinks and keeping track of foods that may be causing you to have them more. If they are still a problem, talk to your doctor.

Cause?: The cause of the hiccups is the real issue but most things are myths: holding your breath, drinking water +- upside down, getting scared or startled to name a few. Depending on your age, medical conditions, and medications it might be worth discussing with your doctor.
