Vasovagal syncope: Vasovagal response or neurocardiogenic syncope. In response to the skin being punctured the nerves are triggered in the brain stem that causes a slowing of the heart rate, then the blood pressure drops, and dizziness occurs from lack of blood flow to the brain. The person can feel lightheaded, nauseated, fuzzy thoughts, weakness, tunnel vision, and extremely hot or cold too.
