West Nile Virus: Although West Nile Virus is now in most of the U.S., the majority of mosquitoes are not infected. You would have to be bitten by an infected mosquito to develop West Nile Virus Fever. It causes a flu-like syndrome in 20% of those infected. It causes neuroinvasive disease.
