Can being on contraceptives for an extended period of time makes it difficult for you to have a child?

It depends: Restoration of fertility after stopping contraceptives vary depends on the type of contraceptive used. Usually Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) requires the longest time (avg 6-18 months) for fertility to restore. Other contraceptive such as oral contraceptive or subdermal nexplanon are relatively quick (avg 6-8 weeks). If contraceptive is stopped, be sure to use alternatives if you do not desire pregnancy.
