Best to get treated: Males can be carriers of chlamydia for long periods of time and have no symptoms. Fortunately, the treatment should be a simple course of antibiotics, or even a one time dose. See your doctor for this treatment and you will be better soon.

Need more info: Why were you tested for chlamydia now? Probably because you had a symptom that concerned you. It is possible that you contracted this infection over 4 years ago but because there was not enough discomfort to warrant your attention the infection was ignored until now.

Treat: Untreated chlamydia can last for all the time it takes until a diagnosis and treatment. It would be highly unlikely for a test to be a false positive. Get your medication and take it!
