Ovulation and sx: At ovulation, especially after 30, more progesterone is produced by the ovary (corpus luteum) than when a woman is a teen or in her twenties. Progesterone causes "bloating" and after 30 these symptoms (sx.) can mimic early pregnancy. The answer to your question is about 14 days, followed by a menstrual period. If a period is delayed, obtain a serum pregnancy test.
