A member asked:

I've used depo as a bc method in the past w/ no issues. i've decided to use it again after giving birth. why is there a knot at the injection site?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Injection site lump: The injection site for depoprovera should not be in one location. Using it for BC is safe for a few years at most, and then one should take a break for several reasons. The site of the injection should vary every three to four months when taking the depoprovera. The "lump" is not worrisome, but is due to probable scar tissue from the needle.
