Yes..: Retinoids are prescription medications and are vitamin A derivatives which alter the DNA of skin cells, leading to less production of pimples and follicular occlusion. They can cause significant dryness of the skin, so a noncomedogenic moisturizer may need to be used along with them. Topical retinoids are first line therapy for acne, so I definitely encourage you to try one if this is a problem.
