Fibromyalgia: To be included in the diagnosis of FM, this pain should be located in at least three out of four quadrants of the body or along the entire spine, and must be present for a minimum of three months. Patients with FM have diffuse chronic pain without evidence of any systemic disorder.

Negative: According to current concepts, fibromyalgia is a systemic illness. It is not organ specific nor can it occur over an isolated segment or region of the body. You either have the process or you don't. If you are having isolated breast tenderness for unexplained reasons upon touching or manipulation then, that is not fibromyalgia but rather would be referred to as "mastitis" until better defined.
