A member asked:

What happens if you remove someone's skin, like a doctor or pathologist would, what do you find underneath?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Just skin? : When a pathologist performs an autopsy, an incision is made through the chest and abdomen so that we can examine the organs and vessels for determine a possible cause of death. If your question is just if the skin is removed, the subcutaneous tissue (fat) is immediately below it and then you will reach skeletal muscle (in most areas).
