Bacause they can and: Sometimes get away with doing so because both the victim and other bystanders do nothing and are sometimes afraid to say something to those who can help. If you are bullied or know someone who is being bullied, please tell someone, teacher, parent, counselor etc.

Inferiority: Believe it or not, bullies tend to have inferiority complexes, often from having been bullied themselves. and yes, it can continue into adult life. Tell someone you know and trust about the bullying. Keeping it inside does no good.
