Green eggs ; ham !: (just kidding) any conditions which cause the stool to transit too rapidly through the intestines can lead to green, moist stool. On the other hand eating green leafy vegetables can lead to green stool. Green cabbage, lettuce, peas, cabbage, spinach, broccoli, green salad, green leaves, celery ; green beans as well as food that contains green food coloring can lead to green stool. Some meds can >.

change stool color. If there is a change to stooling pattern that can’t be explained a medical eval would be prudent.

My stool has a black colour what does it mean?

Stomach bleeding: Black stools are concerning for bleeding from the stomach or duodenum. If your heart rate is less than 100 and you don’t feel faint, make an appointment to see your doctor ASAP. IF your heart rate is greater than 100, you feel faint, or are pale appearing, go to the ER now as you could be losing too much blood rapidly. FYI, iron supplements and bile can also cause dark stools; get evaluated.
