Yes: Used to lower cholesterol, statins can sometimes irritate the liver. More often, they can cause muscle aches & weakness, rarely leading to rhabdomyolysis. More recently, fda changed labeling notifying of possible increase in blood sugars & possible memory impairment in those taking statins.
