Wait awhile: The most common side effect of Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is irregular menstrual bleeding. The good news is that at one year, around 45% of women have no periods at all. After another year up to 75% of women have no periods. Its very effective contraception so if you can tough it out, you can wait and hope you have no periods. If you can't stand it, go back to Birth control pills. Best wishes!
