A member asked:

Iron defiency anemia is not going away even with months of treatment. what are more aggressive options?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Verify diagnosis: As a pediatric hematologist I have seen many children referred for failed treatment of iron deficiency only to find they have another condition. I recommend you see a hematologist if you haven't already. You don't mention what treatment you've had, so it's hard to say what might be "more aggressive". If you haven't had intravenous iron it's a consideration, but would confirm diagnosis first.
