Start with doctor: Start with your regular doctor looking at your scalp to see if it's currently infected - if it's really painful as you say, it likely is. Once you do that, then get an appointment made with a dermatologist. You need both short and long term care. They may even want to start some steroids to get things under control, and then an ongoing regimen of topical treatments to keep things that way.
