Are people addicted to the diet stuff in diet cokes?

No.: The artificial sweeteners that are used in diet coke are not addictive. However, if the soda has caffeine, you can get dependent on the caffeine and get withdrawals if you don't have it regularly each day.

No: If they are physically dependent, it is to the caffeine that is in most of those drinks. Artificial sweeteners are increasingly implicated in many things, including obesity, since some of these sweeteners, while not adding calories, to increase Insulin production, which causes people to eat more. Caffeine dependency results in headaches and irritability if it is stopped suddenly.
