Yes and no: There are advances in stem cell transplantation that are promising. If a candidate is healthy enough to go through the process, their existing immune system is cancelled out by strong drugs, and a bone marrow transplant is performed. The process is dangerous and there are many possible complications, including death.

No cure,: Sickle cell disease is a inherited disease from parents . There are lot of supportive treatments . One with this disease suffers from anemia because of the destruction of red blood cells, and need repeated blood transfusions ,oxygen supplementation at times . Discuss with hematologist
