A member asked:

Can you give me prescription examples of a non-nsaid (person on warfarin) that has anti-inflammatory effects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That's a problem: The only drugs that decrease inflammation and are not NSAIDS are steroids like prednisone. NSAIDS are contraindicated with warfarin for 2 reasons. They increase stomach inflammation and can therefore cause bleeding. They interfere with platelet function to increase risk of bleeding. One exception, Celebrex (celecoxib) doesn't block platelets so if NSAID must be used it's less risky.
