A member asked:

Will noroxin (norfloxacin) antibiotics cause harm if used in pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Noroxin and its cousins (fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as Cipro (ciprofloxacin) and levaquin) probably do not cause birth defects. However, there is some concern that these antibiotics might damage a baby's joints, but this is based on animal studies only. For now, we typically avoid these antibiotics unless there isn't a good alternative.
