Herpes: Viruses are very difficult to cure. At least we have medications to fight the herpes virus.

Viral: Herpes is causes by a virus. It is very difficult to impossible to find a "cure" for diseases caused by viruses, because the viruses are ever-changing. The best we can hope for is prevention with lifestyle measures (condoms for herpes prevention) and vaccines for those viruses that we have studied well enough to develop a vaccine.
