Not thyroid: Your thyroid is in a different place than your tonsils. You may have a tonsil abscess. You need to see your doctor or an ENT for further evaluation. If you have a tonsil abscess it may need to be drained. Your thyroid effects your metabolism--weight, energy, concentration, mood. If it is swollen it could cause you to have trouble swallowing. It should not cause problems with the tonsil.
