Gastrointestinal sx: These symptoms are common throughout pregnancy, and may have to do with your particular reaction to some of the hormones produced in excess during pregnancy, or an intolerance to lactose products (milk, ice cream, etc.). After Delivery: Burping and Gas pains in pregnancy are related to elevated progesterone levels. Progesterone relaxes the muscles of your intestines & stomach. Progesterone levels decrease after delivery. Also, as your uterus grows in size, there dis pressure on your intestines. It is best to eat small meals and drink more water to ease these symptoms. Also, you can take simethicone and gassy foods for some relief
