Progesterone: Progesterone is made in the ovary for the first weeks of pregnancy to sustain the early implantation of a fertilized egg. A poor "corpus luteum" production in the ovary of progesterone will usually cause a miscarriage. In cases of poor progesterone production from the ovary in early pregnancy, it will benefit the early pregnancy to add progesterone until the 18th-20th week of pregnancy.
