Maybe. Maybe not.: HPV infection is common (transmitted by people having sex, especially by having more than one partner). Some HPV infections go away on their own. Some don't go away, and can cause cancer years later. That means some infections will go away, before or after getting the vaccine, because the vaccine itself is not what makes some infections go away. Vaccination prevents the more dangerous HPV strains.
