Menses: If the black blood is in your diarrhea that means old blood and you need to see your family doc very soon. If the black blood is coming out of vagina that means old old blood and might be from not ovulating regularly. Blood goes from pink to red to dark red, to really dark red then brown and then black. Iron can also cause some black in your stool
