Not common: to ovulate the day after your period, but with a longer period like yours (8 days) it could be possible. Your chance of being pregnant is "less likely but not at all impossible." What's important is when you ovulate, not whether you were bleeding or not. If you don't want to be pregnant use protection, there is no absolutely "safe" time.
