You do NOT need sex: ASAP. It is recommended that you avoid sexual activities involving vaginal penetration for 2 weeks after a surgical abortion assuming that the abortion was complete & you have been medically cleared by your physician. There can be variation in provider recommendations.

Sex is not a: necessity. You need to follow your doctors instructions and be cleared by them for sexual activity. Usually it is several weeks. Also are you on any birth control???? You should see @ birth control before you have sex again so you do not end up pregnant again since you obviously do not want a pregnancy since you had an abortion.
