I have tested ana positive, have ibs, joint pain on both sides of my body hands, shoulders, wrists and diverticulitis. what is my prognosis?

Prognosis: This is variable depending on treatment. You should definitely see a Board-certified rheumatologist as there are many excellent treatment options. Also, regular sleep hours, supplements of vitamins D and C, no nicotine, no caffeine within 12 hours of bed time, no alcohol within 4 hours of bedtime and if tolerated, a 30-45 minute soak in 104 degree (spa temperature) water every night before bed.

Non specific: Problem with ANA test is that it is very sensitive but not specific. You will need more testing from your MD to sort out the diagnosis before a prognosis can be given.
