No: Coxackie virus is an enterovirus ( like polio and echo virus) belongs to the Picornaviridae family. (RNA virus) Because it causes Herpangina, people may think is herpes, however it has nothing to do with Herpes. The herpes virus belongs to the Herpesviridae family (like chickenpox, zoster virus etc.). (DNA virus)

Not really: They are both viruses but they are in different families. A Coxsackie and herpes cold sore virus can look similar clinically. They both cause blistering mouth lesions.
