Herpes: Even if they don't show any sign of infection, people carrying the genital herpes virus can infect a sex partner 10% of the time. The finding comes from a large study that collected daily genital swabs from nearly 500 people infected with herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), the genital herpes virus. Many (18%) thought they were uninfected, but found out they out they were herpes carriers.
