Stools: Most children stool once or twice a day but some will go as little as once a week. More than 3 a day is diarrhea and may reflect a problem. Have him checked by your doc and ask to have the stool tested.

Can be normal.: Depends on diet and quality of stool. Is he growing normally? As children get older they should start stooling less frequently. In general, a marked change in your child’s stooling pattern is more important to note than a regular infrequency of bowel movements. If you notice such a change or if your child becomes uncomfortable, talk with your pediatrician.
