I have a redness on my cheeks and across my nose that worsens when i'm in the heat or the sun, it doesn't itch and isn't scaly can this be malar rash?

It could be: But remember it can be other things like Rosacea. The malar rash alone does not diagnose lupus, so I would absolutely see a derm to get correct diagnosis and new treatments that are available like Mirvaso to take the redness out:)

Rosacea: Could be malar rash, but sounds more like a Rosacea dermatitis. Get an eval to determine the definitive diagnosis. Best wishes.
