A member asked:

I had a second period a week after my regular, two days after having un-protected sex. it lasted 4 or 5 days, the bleeding was normal. what is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sure: Abnormal bleeding in women needs a pregnancy test. If Pregnancy test is positive, you need to see a doctor to rule out miscarriage or tubal pregnancy. If pregnancy test is negative, then observe for another 3 months. If it recurs than you need to see a doctor. Abnormal bleeding may also be a sign of infection or sexually transmitted infection.
