Second degree burn?: It's unlikely that you would have discoloration 8 months after a first degree burn which should cause only temporary redness, burning and itching. A second degree burn, which damages the deeper layers of skin, can result in long term discoloration but not scarring. Eventually the body will remove the discoloration but I've seen it take a year or more.
