I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. transvaginal ultrasound says no yolk sac and no fetal heartbeat. is the baby still alive?

Worrisome: If you are really 7 weeks, an embryo with a heartbeat should be seen. A yolk sac can be see as early as 4-5 weeks. You need to follow up with your GYN, but it am to looking good. Sorry!

Unlikely: At 7 weeks gestation (7 weeks after the last menstrual period), a gestational sac, a yolk sac, an embryo and fetal heartbeat should be seen. It is unlikely that the baby is alive. However, a short-term follow up ultrasound can provide a definitive answer.
