Risk of torsion: Cysts and ovaries > 5 cm are at risk of twisting on their own stalk, resulting in a state called ovarian torstion. This can cause significant pain and result in loss of your ovary if not resolved in a timely manner. While your doctor is still just observing the cyst, you should consider decreasing any high impact or jumping activities.
